Accua

Accua was a small town of ancient Apulia, located somewhere in the neighbourhood of Luceria, though its exact site remains unknown [1]. The settlement is mentioned by Livy as one of the places recovered by Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus from the Carthaginians in 214 BCE during the Second Punic War [2]. Notably, Vibius Accuaeus, a native of Accua, led a cohort of Paelignian soldiers in the Roman army in 212 BCE and fought with conspicuous bravery [3].
