(5th-3rd c. BC) Brauron was one of the twelve cities of ancient Attica, located on the eastern coast between Steiria and Halae Araphenides near the Erasinus River [1]. The site is renowned for its sanctuary of Artemis Brauronia, in whose honour a festival was celebrated [1]. Archaeological remains include a temple, a stoa, and a theatre [1]. A duplicate sanctuary existed on the Acropolis, serving as the city branch of the cult [2]. The settlement continued functioning into later times [1].
