Schwarzenacker Roman Museum

Schwarzenacker Roman Museum is an archaeological open-air museum in Homburg, Saarland, Germany, displaying the remains of a Gallo-Roman vicus founded under Emperor Augustus and destroyed by the Alamanni around 275 AD. The settlement housed approximately 2,000 inhabitants and flourished for about 300 years as a commercial center. Excavations led by archaeologist Alfons Kolling uncovered foundations, cellars, roads, and canals. Highlights include the reconstructed House of the Ophthalmologist, a bakery, and residential streets with canopied pavements.
