Peyre-Brune

Peyre-Brune is a Neolithic dolmen near Saint-Aquilin in the Dordogne, France, also known as Pierre-Brune or Dolmen of Belet. The rectangular single-chambered structure measures approximately 2.75 m long and 2 m wide, built of iron-bearing sandstone of orange-brown colour that gives it its name. Excavated in 1874 by the Societe archeologique du Perigord, finds included flint tools, arrow tips, three pendants, and pottery fragments. The dolmen is now in poor conservation, increasingly overgrown by sweet chestnut trees.
