Le Regourdou

Regourdou is a cave structure in Dordogne, France, located 800 meters from the famous Lascaux cave complex [1]. The site consists of a collapsed ancient karst cavity measuring 35 meters deep [1]. Excavations yielded well-preserved Neanderthal fossils that may represent intentional burials [1]. The current excavation team states the correct name is "Regourdou" rather than the commonly used "Le Régourdou" [1].
