A Neolithic standing stone in Avrillé, Vendée, also known as the "King of Menhirs." It stands 8.7 m tall (7 m above ground), making it the tallest menhir in Vendée. Carved from a monolithic granite block weighing approximately 85 tonnes, it was originally part of a triangular formation of three stones. Classified as a Historic Monument in 1889, it now stands in the town hall park. Its name derives from a 1780 theory that Romans erected it as a landmark for Caesar's fleet, though this is considered unfounded.
