FranceLe Mas-d'Azil is a commune in Ariège, France, containing the Grotte du Mas d'Azil, the typesite for the prehistoric Azilian culture dating to around 9000 BC. This massive limestone cave, 420 metres long and 50 metres high, is a 'supersite' with human occupation spanning 30,000 years, including the preceding Magdalenian culture. The D119 road passes directly through the cave tunnel.[1]
