Station Stones - Stonehenge

The Station Stones are four sarsen stones erected at Stonehenge forming the corners of a precise rectangle straddling the inner stone circle [1] [2] [3]. Only two of the original four stones survive today [1] [2]. Two stood on earth mounds called the North and South barrows, though these never contained burials [1]. The rectangular alignment mirrors the monument's solstitial axis and may also mark lunar alignments [3].
