Stanwick Iron Age Fortifications

Stanwick Iron Age Fortifications (1st c. AD), also called 'Stanwick Camp', is a massive Iron Age hill fort in North Yorkshire, England. Covering approximately 300 hectares (740 acres) with over 9 km of earthworks, it is one of the largest Iron Age settlements in northern England[1]. The site may have been the stronghold of Venutius or Cartimandua, leaders of the Brigantes tribe, during the early Roman occupation of Britain[1].
