Lescudjack Hill Fort

Built between 1500-500 BC, Lescudjack Hill Fort is an unexcavated Iron Age settlement in Penzance, Cornwall. It sits on the summit of a steep hill in the eastern part of the city and is defined by a single rampart enclosing approximately 3 acres (12,000 m²) of enclosed area [1]. The site has suffered damage over time and now contains allotments, though a recently cleared open area has revealed portions previously hidden by thick undergrowth [1]. Historical records indicate a small lead-copper mine was located just outside the ramparts, although all physical traces of this operation have disappeared [1].
