The Derby Racecourse Roman Settlement was the third settlement in Derby, known as Derventio, a small town in the Roman province of Britannia [1]. Located 600 metres east of the Derventio fort in Little Chester, on the outskirts of Derby in Derbyshire, England, it developed alongside the Roman road connecting Derventio to Sawley on the River Trent [1]. The settlement is protected as a scheduled National Monument [1].
