The Great Pyramid of Giza

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid, built c. 2600 BC as the tomb of Fourth Dynasty pharaoh Khufu [1]. Construction took approximately 26 years [1]. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one that has remained largely intact [1]. Originally standing at 146.6 meters (481 feet) [1]. The pyramid sits at the northeastern end of the Giza plateau within the UNESCO World Heritage Site 'Memphis and its Necropolis' [1].
