Mortuary Temple of Khufu

The Mortuary Temple of Khufu stood against the east face of the Great Pyramid at Giza, measuring 52.2 metres north to south and 40 metres east to west. Its interior featured an open courtyard paved in black basalt imported from the Faiyum, surrounded by square red granite columns. A 495-metre causeway connected it to a valley temple near the Nile. Today almost nothing survives except the basalt pavement and a threshold with door sockets, the rest having been quarried away in antiquity.
