A Neolithic and Bronze Age archaeological site on Hvar Island, Croatia, near the village of Humac at 225 metres elevation. Excavations from 1912 to 1952 by archaeologist Grgo Novak revealed three distinct prehistoric cultures: Nakovan, Cetina, and Hvar. The cave yielded the oldest depiction of a boat in Europe, found on pottery fragments, along with finely polished ceramics with white and red painted decorations dating to c. 5000-4500 BC. The oldest human remains are approximately 6,500 years old. The material enabled identification of the Hvar-Lisicici culture of the late Neolithic.
