Bribir, Šibenik-Knin County

Bribir is a village in Šibenik-Knin County, Croatia, near Skradin[1]. The site was the Roman town Varvaria, later becoming in medieval times an important settlement with a stronghold and Franciscan monastery, serving as the capital of the powerful Šubić family[1]. The hilltop site, known as Bribirska Glavica, was first excavated by Lujo Marun, who dubbed it "Croatia's Troy" due to its archaeological richness[2].
