Bülövqaya

Bulovqaya (Bulovkaya) is a Chalcolithic settlement on the left bank of the Sarisu river near Goynuk village in the Babek district of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan, dating to the 5th millennium BC. Ceramics found at the site bear close resemblance to Dalma-type pottery from northwestern Iran, and Ubaid-style pottery confirms the northward diffusion of Mesopotamian cultural elements into the South Caucasus. The settlement is considered a possible stronghold or colony of bearers of Middle Eastern cultural traditions, with obsidian sourced from the South Caucasus and Eastern Anatolia highlighting extensive interregional exchange networks.
