The Dolni Glavanak Cromlech is an oval stone circle in the Eastern Rhodope Mountains, 2 km west of Dolni Glavanak village, Bulgaria -- the best-preserved cromlech in the country and the only known structure of its kind there. Dated to the Early Iron Age (8th-6th centuries BC), it consists of 15 roughly trapezoidal blocks of local rhyodacite volcanic rock, approximately 1.2 m high, forming a circle about 10 m in diameter with a southeast entrance. Excavated by Georgi Nehrizov in 1998-1999, finds included decorated pottery and bronze artifacts. Two nearby oval enclosures yielded burnt human bone, suggesting funereal use.
