Teotihuacan - Palace Atelelco

Palace Atetelco is an archaeological complex within the ancient city of Teotihuacán, located in the Valley of Mexico northeast of modern-day Mexico City [1]. This apartment-style complex functioned during the Classic period, approximately 450–650 AD [1]. The site features numerous murals and carvings with prominent military imagery, including representations of warriors, captive figures, and symbolic weaponry [1]. These martial artistic themes have led archaeologists to hypothesize that the complex served as military barracks or a warrior training academy for the powerful pre-Hispanic city [1]. The complex consists of multiple rooms arranged around courtyards, reflecting the urban planning typical of Teotihuacán's apartment compounds [1].
