Unstan Chambered Cairn

Unstan is a Neolithic chambered cairn on Mainland, Orkney, Scotland, built 3400-2800 BC on a promontory extending into the Loch of Stenness near Howe, about 2 mi (3 km) north-east of Stromness[1]. It is notable as an atypical hybrid of the two main types of chambered cairn found in Orkney[1]. The site is also famous as the location where Unstan ware pottery was first discovered, now named after the tomb[1]. The site is in the care of Historic Environment Scotland as a scheduled monument[1].
