Ġebel ġol-Baħar

An alleged underwater megalithic temple off the coast of St. Julian's, Malta, whose name means 'Stones in the Sea' in Maltese. Identified in 1999 by Hubert Zeitlmair, a retired real estate investor and follower of Zecharia Sitchin, who describes it as three stone circles 9-11m in diameter on an underwater plateau 2km offshore at 19m depth. Zeitlmair claims alien construction c. 10,000-12,000 BC, but this contradicts Malta's earliest known habitation of c. 5900 BC. Maltese archaeologists remain unconvinced, and other divers report the boulders appear to be modern illegally dumped rocks rather than megalithic structures.
