Tas-Silġ

Tas-Silġ is a rounded hilltop on Malta's southeast coast overlooking Marsaxlokk Bay, near Żejtun. This multi-period sanctuary spans 4,000 years from the Neolithic to the 9th century AD [1]. The site features a Megalithic temple complex dating to the early 3rd millennium BCE [1], followed by a Phoenician and Punic sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Astarte [1]. During Roman times, it became an international religious complex dedicated to goddess Juno, leveraging its position along major maritime trading routes and mentioned by Cicero [1].
