San Pawl Milqi (500 BC–1 AD) is the largest Roman-period agricultural villa and pagan temple complex ever discovered in Malta [1]. The site contains the ruins of a temple dedicated to the Greek god Apollo alongside a Roman villa [1]. According to Christian tradition, this is where Saint Publius, the Roman governor and first Bishop of Malta, received Saint Paul after his shipwreck, leading to the later construction of a Christian church on the site [1].
