La strada Romana delle Gallie ed il suo arco

The Via delle Gallie is a Roman consular road built under Emperor Augustus [1]. Near Donnas, Roman engineers carved a 221-metre stretch directly into the living rock through a rocky spur that blocked the route along the Dora Baltea river [2] [3]. In medieval times it served as part of the Via Francigena pilgrimage route [1] [4].
