The Giants' Grave of Coddu Vecchiu is a Nuragic funerary monument near Arzachena in northern Sardinia, built in two phases during the Bronze Age. Originally an allee couverte tunnel tomb from the Early Bronze Age (c. 18th century BC), it was expanded in the Middle Bronze Age (16th-14th centuries BC) with a front exedra and a central stele reaching up to 4 metres high with a carved doorway. The rectangular burial chamber spans 5-15 metres in length. Despite the name, no giant remains were found -- these were communal tombs for regular-sized Nuragic people. Around 321 such graves exist across Sardinia.
