Tomb of the Scene

Rock-cut tombs carved into Shogh Ali Mountain near the city of Sahneh in Kermanshah Province, Iran, approximately 50 km east of Kermanshah. Known locally as the Kay Kavus Tomb and the Tomb of Shirin and Farhad, the site features multiple burial chambers at significant elevation above the Darband river. Scholars debate whether the tombs belong to the Median or Achaemenid period (c. 7th-5th century BC). The monument was entered in Iran's national heritage register in 1936.
