(1500-500 BC) Gla was a massive Mycenaean fortress in Boeotia, Greece, built on a limestone outcrop that jutted into Lake Kopais[1]. The site covered more than ten times the area of contemporary Athens or Tiryns, making it one of the largest Mycenaean settlements[1]. Despite its impressive scale, the ancient name remains unknown and it is not mentioned in the Iliad[1].
