Rotherley Down Settlement

Rotherley Down Settlement is a late Iron Age and Romano-British archaeological site on Cranborne Chase in Wiltshire, England, about 2.4 km south of Berwick St John. The site occupies approximately 2 hectares on the brow of Rotherley Down and was excavated by Augustus Pitt Rivers in the 1880s, making it one of the earliest systematically excavated sites in Britain. Occupation spans from the 1st century BC to the 3rd century AD. It is a scheduled monument of national importance.
