Ri Cruin is the most southerly cairn in Kilmartin Glen's remarkable linear cemetery, a 2 km line of Bronze Age burial cairns in Argyll, Scotland. Built between 2200 and 1950 BC, the cairn contained three stone-lined cists. The southernmost cist features rare carved axehead motifs on its side stone, indicating a high-status burial, as bronze flat-axes were symbols of wealth in prehistoric society. A decorated pillar slab at one end bears carvings interpreted as either a boat or a hafted halberd. Excavated by Reverend Mapleton (1870), Craw (1929), and V. Gordon Childe (1936), the site was later damaged by its reuse as a lime kiln before reconstruction.
