Argos, in the Peloponnese region of Greece, was a major Mycenaean settlement during the Late Bronze Age (1700-1100 BCE) and remained a prominent city throughout the Greek, Hellenistic, and Roman periods. The archaeological site features a well-preserved ancient theater, 2nd-century Roman baths, Mycenaean tombs, an odeum, the sanctuary of Aphrodite, agora foundations, and a large stoa [1][2].
