Nether Largie South Cairn, Kilmartin Glen

Nether Largie South is a Neolithic chambered cairn in Kilmartin Glen, part of a linear cemetery of five burial cairns[1]. Probably dating from the fourth millennium BC, it was originally around 40 metres in diameter and 4 metres high, though stone robbing has reduced its size. The internal chamber, subdivided into four compartments by floor slabs, is over 6 metres long. Some stones bear cup and ring marks, a characteristic of prehistoric carved stone in the glen[2].
