The Acropolis of Rhodes is an ancient temple complex dating from the 5th century BC, situated on Monte Smith approximately 3 kilometers southwest of modern Rhodes city center and overlooking the island's western coast. The site contains the Temple of Athena Polias and Zeus Polieus, the Temple of Apollo, and a stadium, odeon, and gymnasium at its base. Unlike typical acropoleis, it was never enclosed by defensive walls [1].
