Huari Archaeological Site

Wari (also Huari) is an archaeological site in Peru's Ayacucho Region, located 22 km northeast of Ayacucho city near Quinua at 2,600–2,900 m elevation [1]. It served as the capital of the Wari Empire and was one of the largest urban settlements in ancient Peru [1]. The site features stone and mudbrick buildings originally painted red and white, including residential, administrative, and religious structures [1].
