Qunchupata, Ayacucho

Qunchupata (also Conchopata) is an archaeological complex in the suburbs of Ayacucho, Peru, belonging to the Wari culture that flourished between 500 and 1100 AD.[1] The site was a ceremonial settlement specialized in ceramic production and domestic object manufacturing.[1] It is considered a key site for understanding the origins of the Wari civilization and their relationship with Tiahuanaco.[1] The site was declared a Cultural Heritage of the Nation in 1976, with this status ratified in 1990.[1]
