Torralba d'en Salort

Torralba d'en Salort is one of the best-preserved Talayotic settlements on Menorca, featuring two talayots, a hypostyle hall, dwellings, and the island's finest taula sanctuary. The 5-metre taula, the only one facing east, stands within a horseshoe-shaped enclosure used for fertility rites from the 4th century BC. Carbon-14 dating of the West Talayot places earliest occupation in the 13th century BC. Excavations in the 1970s by Waldren and Fernandez-Miranda uncovered a bronze bull statuette and terracotta Tanit figurines on a stone altar beside the taula.
