Uyu Uyu

Uyu Uyu is a pre-Inca citadel built by the Collaguas civilization around 1300 AD in the Colca Valley, Arequipa, Peru, at 3,570 meters elevation. Spanning approximately five hectares, the complex comprises four sectors: two urban zones with rectangular and circular stone houses, an agricultural sector with 26 terraces still in active use, and a cemetery. The Incas occupied the site in the 15th century before Spanish arrival led to its abandonment. Its hydraulic canals, described as marvels of Andean engineering, continue distributing water today.
