Huamboy

Huamboy is an archaeological complex in Nicolas de Pierola District, Camana Province, Arequipa Region, Peru, spanning 117,858 square meters. The site comprises five cemeteries and a hilltop village with rectangular compounds of 20 meters per side, built with rounded and angular stones in double-row masonry. Dating from the Early Intermediate Period to the Middle Horizon, the cemeteries contain human remains of adults and children, textile fragments in vivid colors, and stones painted with red pigments. It was declared National Cultural Heritage in 2009.
