Usqunta

Usqunta is a prehispanic archaeological site in the Lucanas Province of Ayacucho, Peru, situated on a mountain reaching approximately 4,400 meters above sea level. Located on the border of the Aucara, Cabana, and Lucanas districts, the site encompasses two zones known as Usqunta I and Usqunta II, also called Inti Watana II and Inti Watana III -- names referencing ritual stones associated with the Inca astronomical calendar. The mountain is also spelled Osconta or Usjunta in historical records.
