Pirwayuq

Pirwayuq is an archaeological settlement in the Peruvian highlands dating to 1–500 AD, corresponding to the Early Horizon to Early Intermediate periods. Located in the Huancavelica Region, Tayacaja Province, within the Laria District, the site sits atop Mount Pirwayuq at approximately 3,900 meters (12,795 ft) above sea level. This high-altitude location indicates it functioned as a significant settlement or ritual center during early Andean cultural development, potentially playing a role in the expansion of highland social networks across the central Andes.[1]
