Pirca Pirca, Lima

Pirca Pirca is an archaeological settlement in the Lima Region, Yauyos Province, Tanta District, situated in the high-altitude zone near Lake Paucarcocha. Declared National Cultural Heritage of Peru in 2013, the site is associated with the Qhapaq Nan (Inca highway) crossing the heights of Pariacaca. Excavations reveal Inca-period investment including plazas, kallankas (large halls), storage structures (collcas), and Inca-style pottery, reflecting imperial expansion into high-altitude pastoral ecosystems.
