Mawk'allaqta, La Unión

Mawk'allaqta (also Mawk'a Llaqta) is an archaeological complex in Peru's Arequipa Region, La Unión Province, Puyca District, situated approximately 2 kilometers from Puyca[1]. The site represents the largest and most important archaeological complex in the Cotahuasi valley[1]. Developed during the Early Horizon period (1-500 AD) by the Wari culture[1]. Later occupied by the Allcca and subsequently by the Inca[1].
