Inkilltambo

Inkilltambo (Quechua for "flowery garden") is an Inca archaeological site in the Cusco Region, San Sebastian District, approximately 7 km northeast of Cusco's historic center at 3,548 m elevation. Built during the reign of Inca Wiracocha (1420-1438 AD) and later enhanced by Inca Pachacutec, it served as both a ceremonial and agricultural center. The site includes agricultural terraces, irrigation canals, ceremonial enclosures, and a huaca carved from a large granite rock. It also contains pre-Inca carvings likely created by the Killke people, as well as storage structures with air vents and ceramic kilns. The Peruvian government invested substantially in restoration in 2017.
