ItalyThe Nuragic Village of Tiscali is a Bronze Age settlement concealed within an enormous sinkhole atop Monte Tiscali in Sardinia's Supramonte region, near Dorgali. Inhabited from approximately the 15th to 8th centuries BC, the village contains around 40 circular stone dwellings integrated into the cave's natural contours, providing both concealment and shelter. Excavations revealed pottery, stone tools, and storage pits indicating agriculture and animal husbandry. The sinkhole itself served as natural defense, requiring no fortifications.
