ItalySiponto was an ancient port town and bishopric of Magna Graecia in Apulia, southern Italy [1]. The settlement was abandoned after earthquakes struck the region in the 13th century AD [1]. Today, the archaeological site is located approximately 3 km (1.8 mi) south of modern Manfredonia and is administered as a frazione of that comune in the province of Foggia [1].
