An unfinished 5-foot statue of Bharateshwara carved from soft soapstone, located on Chandragiri Hill at Shravanabelagola, Karnataka. The figure is complete only to the knees and likely dates to the 10th century. Bharateshwara was the elder brother of Bahubali and son of the first Tirthankara Rishabhanatha. Chandragiri hosts 14 Jain basadis and over 800 inscriptions dating from 600 CE onward, with history reaching back to Emperor Chandragupta Maurya's death here in 298 BCE.
