King Richard III Visitor Centre

The King Richard III Visitor Centre is a museum in Leicester, England, opened on 26 July 2014 on the site of the excavated Greyfriars friary where Richard III was buried in 1485 after his death at the Battle of Bosworth Field. The discovery came when historian Philippa Langley and the University of Leicester began excavations on 25 August 2012, unearthing remains on the first day beneath a car park. DNA testing against two living relatives confirmed the skeleton's identity as Richard III. The centre, costing 4 million pounds, showcases his life, the Wars of the Roses, and the story of his rediscovery and reburial at Leicester Cathedral in 2015.
