Agri Bavnehøj

A Bronze Age burial mound (c. 1800-1000 BC) atop a 137-meter hill near the village of Agri in Mols Bjerge National Park, Denmark [1]. The mound stands 5-6 meters tall, constructed from approximately 650,000 stacked turf blocks [1]. A layer of metallic oxides washed from the upper turf created an airtight seal that preserved oak-log burials and grave offerings inside [1]. It is the highest of four vista-point burial mounds on southern Djursland, located 40 km northeast of Aarhus [1].
