Troldborg Ring

The Troldborg Ring is an Iron Age fortification in Vejle Municipality, located 13 km west of Vejle at a natural spring on a high point overlooking the Vejle River Valley[1]. The fortified site occupies a raised area of about 1,700 m² (18,000 ft²) surrounded by a circular rampart[1]. One side is protected by a steep 70 m (230 ft) drop into the Devil's Valley, while the other side features a moat 0.5 m deep and 2.5 m wide[1]. This well-preserved example of Iron Age defensive architecture demonstrates sophisticated use of natural topography combined with constructed earthworks.
