Kanlı Divane Ören Yeri

Kanlıdivane (ancient Kanytella/Canytellis) is an ancient city in Mersin Province, Turkey, built around a massive natural sinkhole measuring 142 m long, 95 m wide, and 50 m deep. Settlement began in the Hellenistic period (3rd century BC) with a tower built by priest-king Teukros and dedicated to Zeus Olbios. The site was continuously inhabited until the 7th century AD and features four early Christian churches, the 2nd-century AD monumental tomb of Aba, rock-cut reliefs on the sinkhole walls, and Roman-era streets and cisterns.
