Öküzlü Ören Yeri

Okuzlu Oren Yeri is an archaeological site in the Erdemli district of Mersin Province, Turkey, on the Mediterranean coast. The site was occupied during the Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods, featuring remains including a basilica structure from the Byzantine phase. Polygonal masonry characterizes the oldest surviving structures, while later constructions used smooth cut stone. The ruins also contain cisterns, sarcophagi, and remnants of churches, reflecting the site's importance as a settlement along ancient Mediterranean travel routes between Silifke and Erdemli.
