A 2,200-year-old fortress in Adiyaman Province, southeastern Turkey, believed to date from the Commagene Kingdom (109 BC-72 AD). Built as an important headquarters alongside Arsameia, the royal summer capital. Bears traces of Commagene, Roman, Mamluk, and Ottoman periods, with the existing structures primarily reflecting Mamluk construction. Features include a mosque, dungeon, bastions, cisterns, and pigeon lofts used for postal communication. Reopened in 2022 after 17 years of restoration.
